A simple eye infection left untreated, uncorrected refractive errors, or delayed diagnosis of cataracts can quietly push people out of school, work, and social life. For thousands of families, access to basic eye care remains limited by distance, cost, and awareness. Yet most vision loss is preventable or treatable when care reaches people early. Preventing blindness is possible when organizations, communities, and donors work together with focus and care.
To address this gap, SNAD Foundation is partnering with Nisa Global Foundation to deliver two comprehensive eye camps in rural Bangladesh, serving communities in Sylhet and Barguna. These camps will provide free eye screening, diagnosis, and treatment for common eye conditions, while also building long-term awareness around eye health and preventive care.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to making healthcare accessible, practical, and sustainable for underserved populations.
Why Eye Health Matters in Rural Bangladesh
Vision impacts every part of daily life. Children struggle to learn when they cannot see clearly. Adults lose productivity and income when eye problems go untreated. Elderly individuals often withdraw from community life due to avoidable vision loss. In rural Bangladesh, these challenges are amplified by limited healthcare facilities, long travel distances to hospitals, and the cost of consultations, medicines, and glasses.
Common eye conditions such as infections, refractive errors, and early-stage cataracts can often be managed effectively through timely screening and basic treatment. However, without outreach services like community eye camps, many people simply never receive care until the condition becomes severe.

What the Eye Camps Will Deliver
