About the Professional Caregiver Course
The Professional Caregiver Course is a one-month training program approved by the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). It is designed to transform participants into skilled, professional caregivers who can pursue careers locally and internationally.
The course provides a mix of theoretical and hands-on training and covers essential caregiving skills:
- Health Screening: Learn to measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Assist in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Clinical Caregiving: Basic nursing assistance including medicine administration, infection control, and wound dressing.
- Nutrition & Food Safety: Create diet plans and ensure safe food preparation.
- Housekeeping in Caregiving: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients.
